Who can dive

Diving is physical, and a little preparation goes a long way. Here's what to know before booking a course or experience, so there are no surprises when you arrive. A formal medical and liability waiver is completed in person before your first session — this page is just to set expectations upfront.

General health

You should be in reasonably good general health, with no known heart or lung conditions. If you're unsure whether a condition affects diving, check with a doctor before booking.

Swimming ability

A comfortable, non-panicked ability to swim and float is expected. You don't need to be a strong swimmer — just relaxed in the water.

Age

Minimum ages follow SSI standards for each course. Junior options are available for younger participants — ask when you get in touch.

Recent surgery or injury

If you've had surgery, a serious injury, or any procedure involving your ears, sinuses, lungs, or heart in the past few months, let me know before booking so we can check it's safe to proceed.

Pregnancy

Diving is not recommended during pregnancy. If you're pregnant, please wait until after your pregnancy to book a course or experience.

Flying before and after diving

There are standard wait times required between diving and flying. If you're arriving or departing by plane, we'll plan your schedule around this together.
